2026 年第 79 屆坎城影展在剛剛揭曉了今年的正式展映作品名單，在主競賽片中可以看到多位熟面孔，像是《沒有煙硝的愛情》（Cold War） 波蘭導演 Paweł Pawlikowski、《索爾之子》（Son of Saul） 匈牙利導演 Laszlo Nemes、《親密》（Close）比利時導演 Lukas Dhont 、《痛苦與榮耀》（Dolor y gloria）西班牙導演 Pedro Almodovar、《我不是英雄》（A Hero）伊朗導演 Asghar Farhadi 等，另外也有往年的金棕櫚得主包括日本導演是枝裕和、羅馬尼亞導演 Cristian Mungiu 等，都將帶著新作共同角逐最高榮譽。
除此之外，還有丹麥導演 Nicolas Winding Refn 睽違十年新作《Her Private Hell》將在非競賽片放映、法國導演 Quentin Dupieux 的英語電影《Full Phil》入選午夜單元、熱愛各種新鮮嘗試的美國導演 Steven Soderbergh 運用 AI 技術輔助的紀錄片《John Lennon: The Last Interview》則在特別放映單元；另外，John Travolta 改編自己著作的首部編導作品《Propeller One-Way Night Coach》，以及日本導演黑澤清取材直木賞同名著作的首部時代電影《黑牢城》都將在首映單元登場。
2026 年第 79 屆坎城影展將在 5 月 12 日至 23 日舉行，此屆主競賽片評審團主席為南韓導演朴贊郁。
